Sentiment
Sentiment measures how favorably the AI models frame your brand when they mention it.
What it measures
Sentiment is a 0–100 score for the tone of your mentions. A high score means the models tend to describe you positively; a low score means the framing skews negative. Only answers that actually mention your brand contribute to the score.
| # | Brand | Visibility | SOV | Sentiment | Position |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Your brandYou | 75.4% | 15.5% | 78 | 2.5 |
| 2 | Competitor A | 50.8% | 8.1% | 74 | 4.6 |
| 3 | Competitor B | 29.5% | 3.7% | 80 | 4.0 |
| 4 | Competitor C | 11.5% | 0.9% | 76 | 5.3 |
| 5 | Competitor D | 6.6% | 1.1% | 80 | 3.6 |
How it's calculated
Each AI answer that mentions your brand is analyzed to determine whether the overall sentiment is Positive, Neutral, or Negative. These classifications are converted into an internal score, and the Sentiment metric represents the average across all AI answers that mention your brand during the selected period.
A higher Sentiment score indicates that AI models are describing or recommending your brand more favorably overall. A lower score suggests that neutral or negative mentions make up a larger share of your AI presence.
Because the score is calculated as an average, even a small number of negative mentions can reduce your overall Sentiment. Monitoring this metric over time helps you understand how your brand's perception in AI responses changes as your content, reputation, and online presence evolve.
Sentiment is independent of how often you appear. A high Sentiment paired with low Visibility means you're well-regarded but rarely surfaced — a different problem than being frequently mentioned in a negative light.
How to read and improve it
Track Sentiment over time to understand how AI models perceive and describe your brand. Changes in the score can reveal shifts in public perception, product reputation, or the information available about your business.
To improve Sentiment, focus on strengthening your brand's overall online presence:
- Publish accurate, high-quality content.
- Encourage authentic customer reviews.
- Earn credible editorial coverage.
- Address negative or outdated information where possible.
As AI models draw on information from across the web, improving the quality and consistency of your digital footprint can lead to more favorable AI-generated responses.
